The Severn Valley Railway is 16 miles of Heritage Railway extending from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth. It passes through some lovely stations, beautiful countryside and follows the river Severn for most of the way. Bridgnorth Station is clean and tidy, dog friendly and all the staff are polite and helpful. There's plenty of chances to see and experience the golden age of steam and it's well worth a visit. #Nostalgia
We only went to the station to watch the steam trains and it certainly didn't disappoint. It was great to be able to see the trains so closely. One of them was being prepared to go on its next journey and was interesting to watch from the bridge. Another train came right under the bridge that we stood on to see, very exciting! I could have watched for longer but we needed to go.
Well filled sandwiches available in the Refreshments Room. Decent cup of tea also. And to go with this regular steam trains this time of year.
Just love this place, and a great way to arrive and wander down to the town for a bag of chips by the river followed by an ice cream and then back home on the steam train, perfect day out
The nice end of the Severn Valley Railway. Bridgnorth Station is the jewel of the line.
